Albert,

We've never tried Scratch Out, but we were really happy with the Skip Doctor. It has recovered lots of the severely damaged DVDs and CDs we borrow from the library.

Best,
Laura Moncur

Albert, from the sound of both your questions, the best advice for you is this:

What you should do is put all your CDs and DVDs in a box, along with your DVD and CD players, and donate them to charity. Your money is better spent buying a radio.

Have you ever tried Scratch Out? I have it, but I have not tried it yet because of some of the Amazon customer reviews. The last thing I want to do is render a CD or DVD unplayable.

If I clean the shiny side of a DVD with a regular handkerchief, do I run the risk of accidentally removing some of the clear plastic?

Thanks for your site, I was looking. I also see lots of other brands, maybe it has been a while since this has been unpdated? But it has been helpful, thank you.
I do however have a question. I was wondering how these scratches work with DVD's that have no printed side. Both sides have movies. Does this mean that these DVD's with scratches are irrepairable as they are on the printed side of the ones you talked about? Where is the information? Maybe these sequel DVD's are no good?!? Thanks again.
